Roi's Park Hanoverian Stud
In 2008 we commenced the establishment of Tasmania’s first Hanoverian Stud - under the Stud Prefix 'Roi's Park'.
Why Hanoverians? The Hanoverian breed is hard to go past if you want not only good looks, good temperament and versatility – they are the world’s best performance breed. In the world’s toughest competitions, this wonderful breed dominates the results. That’s hard to argue with.
We are Breeding Members of the Hanoverian Horse Society of Australia and will continue to build links with this progressive and active Society to ensure that our practices are in keeping with best practice and that we source only the best stallion services for our mares.
Our first mare, Olga xx (pictured here) – is an elegant 11 year old TB who passed her Hanoverian assessment with flying colours in February 2008. She was presented to Herr Fritz von Blottnitz, a representative of the Hanoverian Verband, and was accepted into the Main Stud Book.
In November 2008 Olga presented us with a stunning black/brown colt by Fisherman’s Friend - Roi's Park Fidelis (pictured below).
Fisherman’s Friend is blitzing the Australian Dressage competition scene and his foals are outstanding – with terrific conformation and very importantly, fantastic trainable temperaments. He is by Fabriano and is owned by Cheryl O’Brien from Remi Stud in Queensland. Olga is back in foal to Fisherman's Friend for a 2010 foal and has recently been sold.
Our small broodmare band also includes a young Hanoverian Stud Book registered TB mare, Winter's Night - by Viscount (Quest for Fame) from an End Sweep mare. This lovely black mare has the most astonishing temperament and lovely paces. She is in foal to Ferrero Rocher - a proven producer of good moving, trainable young horses. This foal is for sale - grab your chance to pick up a Tasmanian bred Ferrero baby!
Our much loved TB mare Antinea is by the good broodmare sire Military Plume (Sir Tristram). She has produced 4 runners for 3 winners - all multiple winners, one of which has won in Singapore. She is a beautifully proportioned mare and is the perfect type of Australian TB to cross with the Hanoverian. She is in foal to Bellario (Bellisimo M / Weltmeyer) and due to foal in November. This foal will be the first Bellario foal for Tasmania and has already been sold in-utero!
We also have interests in Thoroughbred racing and breeding. A new addition is the lovely brown mare, Grisbi - by Perugino (Danzig) out of a Bluebird mare. A successsful horse on the track, Grisbi has a calm and sensible temperament with lovely movement! She is in foal to the More Than Ready son, Benicio.
